Free Cavity Wall Grants

Most houses built after 1920 have a cavity between the walls. This is filled with an insulating material to greatly improve the efficiency of the house.
Cavity wall insulation tends to be the most expensive measure to install but this makes it more attractive to the energy suppliers as they enable to meet their targets quicker with fewer administration costs. Therefore it is generally easier to obtain free cavity wall insulation than other measures.
Flats can have cavity wall insulation installed but permission must be sought by all of the adjoining properties that share the cavity walls.
If your property suffers from damp problems these will need to be resolved before any installation can take place although the surveyor will be able to advise you on the state of the walls and any treatments required prior to installation.

Do I Qualify for a Free Energy Grant?

If you are in receipt of a Tax Credit or Universal Credit, your grant eligibility will be subject to a maximum income amount which is based on how many adults and children live in your home. Please contact us to find out more or see the tables below.
If you believe you are eligible, you can speed up your application by getting the person who receives the benefits to complete our online eligibility check from here.
If your home needs loft and cavity insulation we may also be able to offer this either free or at a reduced rate.
Subject to survey, limited funding, terms and conditions. In some cases, the boiler grants are not enough to make the works completely free and a contribution may be required.
